I keep trying out all these games, one after another, always with the hope to play the next best Mario-like platforming adventure. The Perfect Hit move is particularly useful against bosses, when available, and is especially deadly when used for airborne strikes.For years I've been fooling myself thinking one of these days a solid Sonic adventure is finally going to be made. A target reticule will appear on-screen and you can release the button to unleash the attack. Continue to hold the 'B' button until Sonic's sword glows yellow. Everything will slow to a crawl as it enters a bullet-time mode of sorts. Press and hold the 'B' button as you would when using the Soul Surge attack.
The Perfect Hit is an extension of the Soul Surge move. The Soul Surge attack requires that you hold the 'B' button on the Wii Remote, then shake it forward toward an enemy. You can fill this by grabbing red fairies throughout the stages, among other things. To use either attack, you'll first need to make sure that the Soul Surge gauge on the bottom left corner of the screen has some juice in it. Q: How do I perform the Soul Surge and Perfect Hit attacks? Just press 'left' and 'right' on the analog stick to switch characters in such instances. If you're able to use another player, you'll be able to select him or her from the same pre-stage screen where you can enter the blacksmith shop. Only certain stages give you the option of utilizing other characters. Once that's accomplished, there are still limitations. You can't play as anyone other than Sonic until you've defeated the Black Knight. Q: How do I play as the other characters? With that said, you should be able to work through the initial adventure within several intense hours of play, or over a period of a few days of more casual play.
There are many additional stages to complete, both with Sonic and with other characters (if you so choose). However, it keeps going after the first credits roll. Sonic and the Black Knight actually doesn't seem like a particularly long game if you are just looking for some closing credits.
